My Very First Race

Last Sunday, I competed in the Valley Forge Revolutionary Run. My race was the 1-mile Youth Fun Run. It was a thriller. When my race group was called up, I nearly blacked out. When I got into my spot, my legs started to shake and my heart was pounding. When I heard the fire of the musket, I took it slow and jogged in the beginning. The other musket man who was following us had yelled, "Let's go soldiers!" It made me laugh a bit. I jogged my way to the half mile mark, trying to push myself over the limit. When I turned around at the half mile point to finish the race, I started to kick things up. There were a few people in front of me that I had a feeling I could pass. I saw my sisters from far away cheering for me. Before I passed them, they told me to run. I looked for a seam to make my move, then I shot off as hard as I could. I moved up a couple of positions which made me happy. I crossed the line breathing hard from my dash. A man handed me a paper medal and another one gave me a bag of goodies. I walked over to my mom who was proud of me. My sister gave me a rather hard high five. I felt so proud. After my race, I went over to some booths and got free food. Woohoo! I now really want to race again.

I Went To New York

Passport Renewal

On Thursday, I went to Philippine Consulate General in New York with my sister and my mom to renew my passport because it already expired. It was an uncomfortable wait in the bus. The seat was painful and I felt so cramped. We went to take our passport photos 3 blocks from Port Authority Bus Terminal and then we walked another block until we arrived at the Philippine Embassy to renew my passport. It was a special kind of passport because it is machine readable. We also had to make a personal appearance because they had to do thumb prints. We went to the 3rd floor, took a number and waited for our turn. While waiting, I started doing the jeopardy theme song in my head until it was our turn. It wasn't long before we were up. Then we went to the basement and this guy encoded the new information then did thumb prints for all of us.

Philippine Consulate General in New York

After that crazy process was finally over, we took a trip to Nintendo World, the home to all things Nintendo. We walked a couple blocks to get there. My feet were in pain but I didn't care. It had MANY games inside and thankfully, my mom bought me Guitar Hero On Tour.

Inside the bag is my new Guitar Hero On Tour

A weird thing I noticed during our trip to New York was that there were more Yankees fans than Mets fans. I saw lots of people wearing Yankees hats. After that, we argued about where to eat. My sister and my mom wanted to go to a fancy restaurant but I wanted McDonald's because I was tired and it was closer to our location. My mom felt sorry for me so we settled for McDonald's. Yes! McDonald's. I had a Big Mac, fries, and a Coke. My sister and my mom both had a cheeseburger, fries and Coke. Man it was good! Following our chow time, we went to the St. Patrick Cathedral. We offered some prayers, took pictures, and lit some candles. Lighting the candle was surprisingly fun!

After that, we went to H&M 5th Avenue and my sister bought a navy blue pea coat. I was really tired from walking but my sister and my mom still wanted to shop so to make me happy, they brought me to Toys R Us. My mom bought me another video game--Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. The Toys R Us at New York was huge! The one at King of Prussia is nowhere near as big as it. We started walking around until it was almost time to leave.

As we headed to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, we stopped by Starbucks. I bought a double chocolaty chip frappuccino and my sister bought a signature hot chocolate. Even if it was chilly outside, I still wanted something cold. And believe me, the frappuccino was amazing! Then we went home on the uncomfortable bus and like before, I felt so cramped. It was like being in a small box! When our dad drove us home from the place we were dropped off, I showed my dad the games I bought. It was a good time going to New York. My feet were killing me but other than that, I loved it.

Guitar Hero On Tour

One of the games I got was the famous DS game Guitar Hero On Tour. Just like it's big brothers Guitar Hero 1,2, and 3, it's about playing the guitar. My friend Alex says that this game rocks. I hope it's true. I can't wait to try it. The sad thing is, you can't customize your rockstar like the other Guitar Hero games.

The makers of Guitar Hero are going to release the sequel to Guitar Hero On Tour on November 16, 2008. It's called Guitar Hero On Tour Decades. I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground

The other game I bought was Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. Here, you create your own skater and build his career from scratch. You get help from many skillful skaters like Bam Marjera, Vanessa Torres, Ryan Sheckler, and Tony Hawk. My skater is Jade Hawk. He is Tony's little brother. This may sound weird but my guy is better than Tony. All of Jade's stats are higher than Tony's. So far, my favorite location to skate is Philadelphia. Plenty of ramps, grind rails, and people to knock down. My favorite combo is the backflip+frontflip combo. My favorite trick is the Darkslide. I'm so happy I got this over Spore.

Go Phillies!

The Phillies are going to the World Series!

The Phillies are on fire right now! With Shane Victorino, J-roll, Chase Utley, Pat the Bat, Big Fella Howard and King Cole, This one is in the bag. Sure the Rays have Evan Longoria. But we'll kick some Devil Ray butt! Our pitching is fantastic, our fielding is amazing, and our bats are coming alive. The Phillies can beat the Rays any day. Who cares about some home field advantage. The Phils are going to win the World Series. And just so they know, I will be watching their games. Go Phillies!

Paul Landston retires

The man retired!

Ever since Paul Landston and his teammate Gary Pickett carried the Trenton Thunder to the East League Championship Paul's been having a severe slump. Out of twenty at bats and only three hits, he has only two RBIs and only three stolen bases. His progressive batting performance (PBP) has dropped to it's worst. Struck out eight times, flied out two times and grounded out two times, his average is a humiliating .158 and the manager is angry about Paul Landston's game. He swings at balls in the dirt, inside, far out, and ones up to his head. The pitcher struck me out with sliders to the ground. I'll never forget the winning homerun he scored in the East League Championship game.

He could've lived this day. The Major Leagues.

Paul Landston's Progress

Paul Landston Part 2

If an average of .301 is good in baseball, hear the rest of Paul Landston's stats. 9 homeruns, 52 runs batted in, 113 hits out of 326 at bats, 41 strikeouts and 2 stolen bases out of 11 tries. I know. He's not that fast. The latest message I got from the manager is "Way to clutch at bat. Your RBI late in the game really saved us. You're gonna see the Triple A soon!" Another great accomplishment he made is the great diving catch. He's got two of them to his credit. Also, he was building a 7 game hitting streak but then the pitcher was able to strike me out. The Trenton Thunder are 85-53. They are leading the EL division. The runner up is the New Britain Rock Cats. They are 79-59. He hit his first triple against the Binghamton Mets who hold the worst record 56-82. Each one of my teams are first in their division. AA, AAA and Major League. I'll inform you next time something good or bad happens.

Not Paul Landston but this is close to his diving catch. Yer Out!!!

My New PSP Games!!!

About two months ago I bought a game for my PSP called Patapon. And on May 12, my birthday I got this awesome game called MLB 08 The Show

MLB 08 The Show

Back, back, back... outta here!!! MLB 08 The Show is about a sport we all know and love, baseball. My rookie, Paul Landston has nine runs batted in, one homerun, twenty-four hits out of fifty-four at bats, and sadly zero stolen bases out of three attempts. The game where I hit a home run was in my AA league debut. As the lead off man, I had so much pressure. After letting the first pitch go by for a strike. I whacked one down left field line and it was outta here! Boy I rock at that game. My team kicked butt and the score was 17 to 3. The team he is on is called the Trenton Thunder. Their record is 16 wins and 4 losses so far. The manager is looking to keep me for as long as possible because I'm batting an excellent average of .400. I only have 7 strikeouts. My all time favorite team is the Philadelphia Phillies but my favorite player is Ichiro Suzuki who plays centerfield for the horrible Seattle Mariners. Although his team has the worst record, Ichiro can field, hit, and definitely speed around the bases.

Patapon

Pata! Pata! Pata! Pon! That's patapon language for move forward. Patapon is a game about beats. Square=Pata! Circle=Pon! Triangle=Chaka! X=Don! I hope you understand. Right now I'm on a really hard level. You have to defeat a lava dragon in a desert that heats up and hurts your army every now and then. One way to make it easier is using this mysterious Juju called the Rain Juju. They do a chant then suddenly a downfall of rain comes pounding. The game is nowhere near easy and I don't think I'll ever beat it! If there is anyone else with Patapon please help me! Once again, Pata! Pata! Pata! Pon!

Here, I'll give you the games... Not!!! Ha ha ha!

On the left is MLB 08 The Show and on the right is Patapon.

Yna loves you all! Hugs & Kisses!
Even if it is just a cutout of the love & heart Yna could give you, here it is. In poetry.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet
And so are you.
Roses are red

The sky is baby blue
Being loveless on Valentine's Day
Is like coming down with the flu.
Love is pink & red
Her heart is blue
She doesn't have a date for V Day
Who knew?
Hearts are pulsing red
Grass is wet with dew
If your one true love is family
I love you too.
Some of my favorite love songs and feel good songs:
Love Song by Sara Bareilles
Dark Blue by Jack's Mannequin
Nine In The Afternoon by Panic At The Disco

I say, "Happy Valentine's Day!" I love you all. I wish I could celebrate with my family down in Philippines! I didn't eat any sweets but the day still rocked!!! To everyone out there, "Happy Valentine's Day. Hugs and kisses to everybody!"

We cut out hearts and posed with them for Valentine's Day.

That is me in the middle. To my left is Dani and to my right is Yna.

Dani covered herself with the hearts and Yna and I used the cut-outs to frame our adorable faces.

I covered baby with the cut-out. What? Dani didn't mind!

Happy Valentine's Day to y'all!!!

I have a PSP!!!

My PSP

I have many video games but not like my new Playstation Portable (PSP). My Lola Alma gave me some money ($400 plus) to buy it and now I have it. (Thank you so much Lola Alma! You answered my dreams!)

My dad and I bought it from Sony Style at the King of Prussia Mall. The color is black and it's the "slim" version. Along with the PSP, I also got earphones so I don't disturb anyone, a screen protector, a cloth to wipe any smudges and a game called Thrillville Off The Rails. I played a couple times and whenever I hold it, I get a tickle down my spine. It may be tempting but I always do my homework first. Then I play my wonderful, radical, awesome PSP.

The Game

The game I bought is
Thrillville Off The Rails. In the game, you are a park manger and you try to defeat the evilness of your evil nemesis, Globo-Joy, another amusement park. You pick from a series of characters and customize them to get a perfect look. You can put the craziest roller coasters or the coolest carnival rides to make your guests sick and throw up. It also has some new features like socializing with other people and WHOA! pieces to max out your roller coasters. You can also crash your roller coaster and make the people go flying. Thrillville Off The Rails definitely deserve five stars!

I was soooooooooooo happy when I was getting these things, I almost cried!

Just looking at it makes me happy!

When I was holding it, chills kept running through my body.

I waited and waited for this moment and it finally came.

Don't we look great together? Just me and the PSP? Ha ha ha!

When I saw all the features like the analog stick, I was jumpy!

The back looked radical with the word PSP in silver. It's pretty shiny!

My Trip Back to the U.S.

Jan. 11, 2008. Mom woke us up 3:30 am becuase we have a 6:30 am flight. I already took a bath the night before and wore the clothes I have to wear to the airport when I slept. So I just had to brush my teeth and get on the car. Everybody was moving around very quietly. Their faces were sad. I was sad too, sleepy but sad. When all the bags were placed in the cars, we hugged and said I-love-yous to everyone we're leaving behind. Actually, only Tita Chelin and LA stayed behind while everyone else went to take us to the airport.

The ride to the airport was also quiet and my mom was still crying (silently). I saw her wiping her tears. I still want to stay! I will miss everyone and every wonderful things about Philippines. I can't wait for the next time. I hope it's soon. And I hope we go during summer so I won't have to work on a lot of homework.

Destination: New York, USA

This is a tail of a Cathay Pacific plane. This was taken by Yna from the plane we were in.

Me and my dad on the plane. Don't we look sad? We didn't want to go back to the US yet!!! We miss everyone back home. Anyway, I tried to enjoy the ride by, of course, playing video games :) As you can notice, I'm not seating next to the window anymore. My dad moved us to the center seats because it's easier for us to get up and go to the bathroom when we needed to.

Yna was sad too. And Dani ... I don't know but she got cranky a lot of times during the flight. She was probably annoyed of the seat belt.

Dani's trying to get some sleep. Good thing she has her own seat.

My Favorite!!!

Jollibee! Jollibee! Jollibee! Jollibee!

I know I've been saying I love shrimp a lot. But this baby here is really my favorite. Did you know that there are thousands and thousands of Jollibee restaurant in the Philippines? There is actually one Jollibee in every block and they're always full of people. We do have McDonald's in the Philippines but Jollibee is more popular. Jollibee has tasty food like the Champ Burger, Chickenjoy, palabok, Jolly Crispy Fries (french fries,) rice, cheeseburger and many others but my number one favorite is... the Jolly Crispy Fries. Whenever Lolo Daddy and I go to Jollibee and buy food to go, I start eating my fries and when we get home it's half way done! It's too bad we don't have Jollibee in Pennsylvania. There are some in California but no one is willing to travel with me across the country to eat there.

They are spreading the food for me. They're so nice!

See all that food? I miss them soooooooo much!

Where is everybody? Am I eating all the food? If yes, yipee!
